President Victor Yushchenko met with the major archbishop of Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, Cardinal Lubomyr Husar.
During the meeting sides discussed current state of church-state relations and ecumenical dialogue.
At the beginning of the meeting the President praised balanced position the Church has demonstrated during the elections on 17 January.
«The Church has demonstrated the absence of any political engagement and this has made a great contribution to the stable legitimate transparent elections», said Victor Yushchenko.
